Invasive plant species, such as teasel, sulfur cinquefoil, crown vetch, euphorbia, and various thistles are increasingly gaining a foothold in our local remnant of native shortgrass prairie. The City of Boulder has identification information about these and many other invasives on their website.
SR4 is fortunate to have several volunteers who are trying to keep these invasives at bay to protect our treasured grassy open spaces. If you’d like to lend a hand in the effort, please contact the board so you can coordinate with current volunteers and receive information on how best to eradicate these plants. We’ll also gladly supply you with compost bags.
