What Needs Review?
Any work on the outside of your house needs to be reviewed by SR4’s Architectural Review Committee before the work begins. That includes any additions or alterations, new windows or window replacements, roofing, siding, a new garage door, fencing, swamp coolers — essentially anything others can see.
It also includes simple maintenance items like paint, even if you’re repainting with the same color, or replacing deck materials. Whatever you’re doing to your home’s exterior needs to be run by the ARC. In most cases, review and approval will be quick and easy. For more information about the architectural review process, see Architectural Review in our Policies and Guidelines document.
There are some exceptions to the review requirement: the ARC does not review landscaping, and it does not review front doors. And if you choose colors or materials from our pre-approved paint or shingle color lists, all that’s required is to notify the ARC of your choice.
